Myofascial Release
Unlock lasting pain relief and freedom of movement with Myofascial Release
This gentle hands-on technique targets the fascia—your body’s connective tissue—to relieve tension, improve mobility, and support natural healing.
Benefits of Myofascial Release (MFR)
Pain Relief - Myofascial Release can help to alleviate chronic pain caused by fascial restrictions, helping with conditions like back pain, migraines, fibromyalgia, and more.
Improved Mobility - Myofascial Release is ideal for those struggling with restricted movement due to tight muscles, fascia, or scar tissue.
Enhanced Posture - Correct imbalances in the body caused by tight fascia, leading to better posture and alignment.
Reduced Stress and Tension - The gentle, hands-on nature of MFR releases tension not only in your body but also helps ease stress and mental fatigue. You’ll leave your session feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.
Injury Recovery - MFR supports faster recovery from sports injuries, accidents, or surgeries by improving circulation and reducing scar tissue.
Holistic Approach to Healing - Unlike other treatments that focus only on symptoms, MFR works on the entire body. It addresses the root cause of pain and restrictions, promoting overall well-being and long-term healing.
Improved Circulation - By releasing tight fascia , MFR enhances blood flow and nutrient delivery, supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
What to Expect During a Myofascial Release Session
Your first session will begin with an assessment of your medical history, current pain levels, and any movement limitations. This allows us to understand your unique needs and create a treatment plan tailored just for you.
You will choose whichever of these options is more comfortable for you:
disrobe to your comfort level and be covered with sheets and a blanket during your session, or
wear shorts and a tank top(or sports bra) during your session
Your therapist will use gentle, sustained pressure on areas of tight fascia. Unlike deep tissue massage, MFR is a subtle technique that works slowly to release restrictions and improve circulation for long-term relief. The treatment is typically comfortable and relaxing, with pressure adjusted to your tolerance.
Optional cupping and/or scraping therapy may be incorporated into the session as needed. Your therapist will answer any questions you may have about these techniques.
Your therapist will focus on problem areas, but MFR also addresses the body as a whole. By releasing fascial restrictions in one area, you may notice improvements in other parts of the body, even if they weren’t directly treated.
Throughout the session, you may be asked to breathe deeply or gently stretch to enhance the release process. Communication with your therapist is encouraged to ensure the pressure is right for you.
After your session, it’s normal to feel immediate relief or a sense of deep relaxation. Some clients may experience mild soreness as the body adjusts, but this typically resolves within 24-48 hours. Drinking plenty of water post-treatment helps flush toxins and support healing.
Results vary, but many clients experience reduced pain, improved mobility, and enhanced overall well-being after just a few sessions. For chronic conditions or injuries, a series of treatments may be recommended for optimal results.
